Children’s Book: Half-Page Breakdowns Complete

There's been a dearth of updates lately because I've wanted to let the Extra Life posts have some breathing room (don't forget, there's still plenty of time to donate), but this was an update I just had to share.

It’s been awhile since I posted any visuals from my forthcoming children’s book, for which I plan to complete the submission process to an agent by year’s end. But, I’ve now completed the half-page breakdowns for the entire book.

Yes, I'm pretty ecstatic.

So that's everything sans the cover, title page and other giblets (author page, copyright page, etc.). Not too shabby.

Anyways, the last we looked at these two, it was a peak at the rough thumbs (about 2x2.5” panels), which looked like this:

The half page breakdowns, measuring in at 4x5.75” or so, include far more detail and will be the basis for the final, full page color versions I’ll be submitting to agents and which I’ll share here for your assured delight. Take a peek at the half-page versions of the two sketches above:

Not bad, huh? Not perfect, of course, but in the exact right style I want them to be. I can’t wait to see what they look like fully colored and inked. Soon!

Next step: Full-page colors
